Explanation

For answer A

Locking the steering (locking the wheel) will not activate as long as the motor vehicle’s “ignition” is on, meaning the key is inserted in the ignition and turned to the first position, even if the engine is not running.

For answer B

Power steering helps to steer the wheel with minimal physical effort, but for it to operate the engine of the motor vehicle must be running (the engine must be started). Therefore, if you intend to tow a car with power steering whose engine has stalled, you must take into account that steering the wheel requires greater physical effort and, for this reason, towing must be performed with particular attention. We must remember that if the power steering no longer functions, it does not mean that the steering system no longer works; it will work, but it will be harder to manoeuvre.

We must take into account that it is prohibited to tow a motor vehicle whose steering system is defective. In this case it can be towed only if towing is carried out by suspending the steering wheels.

For answer C

You are permitted to tow the motor vehicle with power steering whose engine has stalled, as long as its steering system functions. If its steering system does not function, it can be towed only if towing is carried out by suspending the steering wheels.

The correct answer is: B
