The failure of the exhaust valves leads to irregular engine operation and even its stopping at low speeds, reduced power or misfires in the exhaust corrector.
When the fuel mixture is too lean, meaning it has more air than necessary, the engine overheats. If the fuel mixture is too rich, meaning it has more fuel than required, a part of this fuel cannot be burned and causes the emission of black-coloured smoke. Therefore, when the motor vehicle emits black-coloured smoke through the exhaust, it indicates an excessive fuel consumption, in this case it is recommended to contact a specialist.
If the motor vehicle emits pollutants above the legally admitted limit, it is considered a contravention and is sanctioned with the fine provided in the second class of sanctions, with the retention of the registration certificate and with the immobilization of the vehicle.
An excessive oil consumption in the engine causes the emission of blue smoke through the exhaust, which indicates the burning of the oil together with the fuel mixture.
